The Short Version
Mattress Guide Pro earns commissions when you click our links and buy from Amazon or other retailers. This costs you nothing extra — you pay the same price. These commissions help fund our testing operation. They do not influence our ratings, recommendations, or editorial conclusions.
How We Earn Commissions
Amazon Associates
We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you click an Amazon link on our site and make a qualifying purchase within 24 hours, we earn a small commission (typically 3–4% of the sale price).
Brand Affiliate Programs
Some brands we review operate their own affiliate programmes. If a product links directly to a brand website, we may earn a commission through their programme. These are disclosed on the relevant review page.
No Sponsored Reviews
We do not accept payment in exchange for reviews, ratings, or editorial placement. No brand can purchase a better score, a higher ranking, or a recommendation on this site.
How Commissions Do Not Affect Our Editorial Content
Our editorial team operates independently of our affiliate revenue. The team that tests and scores mattresses does not see affiliate commission data by product. Recommendations are determined entirely by testing outcomes, scored against our standardised rubric.
We have published negative reviews of products with affiliate links. We have recommended products that generate lower commissions over products that generate higher ones. We have revised previously positive reviews downward when long-term testing data revealed durability issues — despite the revenue impact.
If a product earns a top recommendation from us, it is because it performed best in our testing — not because its brand has a generous affiliate programme.
How We Disclose Affiliate Links
In compliance with the FTC's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255), we disclose our affiliate relationships prominently on every page that contains affiliate links:
- ✓A disclosure banner appears at the top of every review and guide page
- ✓The footer of every page includes a brief affiliate disclosure
- ✓This standalone Affiliate Disclosure page is linked from the footer of every page
- ✓Individual review pages note whether a product was purchased by us or received as a sample
How Products Are Obtained
We clearly note on each review how the product was obtained:
Most products are bought at full retail price using our own funds, with no brand involvement.
Occasionally brands send free samples. This is disclosed in the review. A free sample never influences our score.
