Is the jump from mid-range to upper-tier hybrids worth it?
Usually not, unless you have a specific need. The mid-range already gives you full coil systems and real cooling; the next tier buys a cooling cover upgrade, position-specific zoning or a different firmness category.
Is the Purple Original a hybrid?
No. It uses a polymer grid over foam with no coils.
We include it because it ran cooler than every coil hybrid we tested.
